- Former Psychiatrist, Institute of Mental Health, Singapore, where he was involved in the setting up of the High Dependency Psychiatric Care Unit (HDPCU).
- Managed multidisciplinary teams that treated patients with various mental disorders in the acute General Psychiatry ward and High Dependency Psychiatric Care Unit
- Practiced military psychiatry during National Service and is familiar with the treatment of stress disorders related to National Service
Keen interest in suicidology and has published papers on suicide and suicidal behaviours in international journals, conferences and books.
